Get the app

MiFamilias is in beta. The app is not in the App Store or the Play Store yet, so you install it through Apple's and Google's testing programmes. Places are by invitation while we add families a few at a time.

These guides are in English and Tagalog for now.

Step 1: ask for a place

Send us a short message saying who you are and which phone you use. We reply with what you need for your phone.

  • iPhone: we send you a TestFlight link.
  • Android: we need the Google account you use on the phone (usually a Gmail address). We add it to the tester list and send you a link to join.

Request an invite

Testing as a household?

If some of your family use iPhones and some use Android, tell us in the same message. Each person needs their own invitation for their own phone.

Step 2 on iPhone: install through TestFlight

TestFlight is Apple's own app for trying apps before they are released. It is free and safe to use.

  1. Install TestFlightOpen the App Store, search for TestFlight and install it. It is made by Apple.
  2. Open our link on the iPhoneTap the TestFlight link we sent you. Open it on the phone itself, not on a computer.
  3. Accept the invitationTestFlight opens and shows MiFamilias. Tap Accept, then Install.
  4. Open MiFamiliasThe app appears on your home screen like any other. Open it and carry on to create your account.

Updates

When we release a new beta version, TestFlight tells you and you update from inside TestFlight. Each beta version works for 90 days, so keep TestFlight installed.

Step 2 on Android: install through Google Play

  1. Check you are signed in with the right Google accountOpen the Play Store and tap your picture at the top right. It must be the account you gave us. If it is a different one, switch to the right account first.
  2. Open our join linkTap the link we sent you and choose Accept invitation (or Become a tester).
  3. Install from the Play StoreOn the same page, follow the link to the Play Store and tap Install.
  4. Open MiFamiliasOpen the app and carry on to create your account.

The app name may look odd

While the app is in testing, Google can show a temporary name on the Play Store page. It is the right app.

Updates

Google does not always update test apps by itself. If something we have announced is missing, open the Play Store page for MiFamilias and tap Update.
